The objective of the Business Support Programme III – SME FIT II project of UEAPME, which came to an end on 30 June 2009, was to disseminate the acquis communautaire to the four beneficial countries Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania and Turkey. UEAPME and its 30 partners also aimed at strengthening our member SME associations in these four countries. The Programme is financed by the DG Enlargement of the European Commission.

Introducing New Services - Improving the quality of information and consulting services
For this purpose a seminar will be organized on how UPEE could improve the quantity and quality of services to its members.
EU-project partner OZS from Slovenia will facilitate this seminar in Sofia, on UPEE premises for interested UPEE staff and members.

This event aims at familiarizing interested companies and BRO staff with the impact of business relevant EU-legislation on food safety.
For this purpose a seminar will be held in Burgas on 28 May 2009.
Experts facilitating the seminar are from project partners UPEE, College of Tourism Bulgaria and EU-partner APCM from France.

This action aims at showing ways how to promote entrepreneurship and to develop assistance services for start-ups.

For this purpose a seminar for BRO employees and Bulgarian Social Partners as well as interested companies will be held on 26 March 2009 in Sofia.

This event aims at explaining practices how to organize and manage BREs (organizational structure, self-financing, strategic planning).
For this purpose a seminar for BRE employees took place on 21 February 2009 in Shumen. On this occasion an expert from HWK Stuttgart presented his organisation’s know how in this field to the target audience and discussed the various concerns raised during the seminar.

Information Seminar - CSR
The seminar aim at raising the awareness of romanian SMEs to Corporate Society Responsability (CSR).
The non-legislative approch supported by the European Commission will be presented, as well as romanian and italian experiences.
Exemples of best pratices in the field of human ressources managment, environnment policy, health and safety at work...will be presented.
The romanian organisation will host this conference organised together with the italian partner, API Varese.

Information seminar - Gender equality and female Entrepreneurship
This seminar focuses on fostering female entrepreneuship in Romania. The acting partners are CNIPMMR as hosting partner.
FEM/UEAPME as well as APID (Italian association for female entrepreneurship) are giving presentations and talks about their experiences to support female entrepreneuship on national and EUropean level.
A romanian expert as well as a romanian female entrepreneur will share their experiences with the participants.

Social Dialogue with representatives from government and trade unions
TESK will organise a seminar for representatives of the government and trade unions in Ankara on 26th May 2009. The EU partners will share their experience of social dialogue, explain how they are involved in the consultation and decision-making process. They also try to show the governments of the target countries what they can do to help SMEs.

Institution building: Vocational training - implementation of the dual system
This event aims at explaining vocational training in Germany and Italy and the implementation and functioning of the dual system in both countries.
For this purpose a seminar for TESK employees and interested companies will be held on 5th November 2009 in Ankara. Mr. Geggus, the expert on vocational training from HWK Karlsruhe, will concentrate on aspects like "Transition to the labour market", "Basic structure of the Education System of Germany", "Notion of the term Apprenticeship" and last but not least "Principles of the German VET-System".
In addition, the participants will also get the chance to compare the two systems of Germany and Italy.
Project partners facilitating the seminars are HWK Karlsruhe (Germany), Mr Geggus, and Confartigianato (Italy), Ms Raquel Jara Romero.

Final LEAD/TARGET Partner Meeting in Split
The SME FIT II lead and target partners are meeting one last time as a project team.
We will take stock on the activities, presents the evaluation reports from the four target countries and discuss future prospects.

Final conference for TARGET PARTNERS of all BSP III projects
DG Enlargement invites project leaders and target partners to participate in a final BSP III conference of all 18 BSP III projects.
The aim is to take stock on the results of each BSP III project and to learn about new plans and projects of DG Enlargement in the upcoming years.
The final conference of all BSP III projects will take place in Split (Croatia) from 29-30 June 2009 and it´s title is: "To BSP or not to BSP; That’s the question!"

SME FIT II meets BSP CONFAPI and FIDEN
CONFAPI and FIDEN invited UEAPME to present UEAPME´s SME FIT II at the Final Conference of the BSP III project "Promotion of Environmental Certifications and Corporate Social Responsibility towards EU legislation adoption and SMEs competitiveness" which takes place on 19 June 2009 in Munich.
Iris Marlovits, project manager UEAPME SME FIT II will present the aims and results of UEAPME SME FIT II at this conference.

BSP III - Train the trainers week
Within the SME FIT II-Programme of UEAPME we are organising a "Train the Trainers Week" on seven key issues of the acquis communautaire from 14th - 18th of April 2008.
Each day experts from our member organisatons facilitate a workshop on the training tool they developed. The trainees are experts and staff from our UEAPME´s member associations of the target countries Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Turkey.
Training will be provided on:

Standardisation and Certification
Quality Management
Health and Safety at Work
Environmental Protection
Energy Policy
Food Quality
Following the train the trainers week, the member oganisations from the target countries adapt and translate the training tools into their native language and the experts facilitate workshops for staff and SMEs on the acquis communautaire.
